Core General Education Requirements: The Foundation of your Education
Core General Education Requirements are a key part of your education at UW-Platteville that provide a broad foundation of knowledge and skills that are broadly relevant to your personal and professional life. This includes courses that cultivate your critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving abilities, while providing exposure to a range of disciplines, helping you to navigate our increasingly global society and world. The diverse topics and modes of inquiry that are central to the Environmental Sciences means that our majors fulfill a substantial portion of the Core General Education Requirements with courses that also count toward their major. We strongly encourage our majors to pursue a Helios Certificate of Integrated Liberal Arts to guide their general education pursuits.
