Associate of Arts and Sciences
The Associate of Arts and Sciences degree is the foundation for the bachelor's degree. An associate's degree helps graduates break into the professional world and build the skills and foundation to advance into a bachelor's program. Students with the Associate of Arts and Sciences degree have satisfied the university-wide general education breadth requirements.
Associate of Science in Business Administration
The Associate of Science in Business Administration provides a foundational understanding of the practices and frameworks to manage contemporary business situations. The program is an ideal blend of high-demand soft skills (e.g. communication, problem solving, interpersonal factors) and critical technical knowledge within various business functions.
Associate of Science in Food and Agriculture
The Associate of Science in Food and Agriculture prepares graduates that value and use critical thinking, are effective communicators and act as responsible, ethical and competent agriculturists. The combination of a solid liberal arts education with professional curricular and educational opportunities provide the important theoretical and practical aspects of food and agriculture with the managerial skills necessary for students to become professional agriculturalists. Graduates of the program will be able to demonstrate basic knowledge and skills in agricultural business, including marketing and sales of agricultural products and services as well as management of crops and animals for food production. Graduates of the program will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a baccalaureate degree in an agricultural field at UW-Platteville or other University of Wisconsin Institution.
Associate of Science in Pre-Engineering
The Associate of Science in Pre-Engineering prepares graduates who have a strong background in mathematics and science coupled with an introduction to fundamental engineering concepts. Graduates of the program will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a baccalaureate in any of several different branches of engineering at UW-Platteville or other University of Wisconsin institutions.
Associate Degree Overall Requirements
- A minimum of 60 credits (some programs require more than 60 credits)
- Fulfilled all general education and degree requirements
- A cumulative grade point average of at least 2.00
- Have earned at least 21 credits at UW-Platteville
