UW-Platteville Student Health Services (SHS) provides a broad range of primary health care services for the Platteville campus; graduate students may use Student Health Services if they pay segregated fees. These include acute care for illness and injuries, mental health, health and wellness promotion, and opportunities for students to participate actively in their own health care. Physicians, nurse practitioners and registered nurses provide care for students. A directory of medical services provided on campus and in the community is available online and at the SHS office. SHS, located on the second floor of Royce Hall, is open Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. during the academic year and reduced hours during the summer. Students may call 608.342.1891 to schedule an appointment or to obtain additional information.

Many health care services are available at no charge to all UW-Platteville campus students carrying one or more credits per semester. Students are responsible for expenses incurred, including but not limited to referrals for specialty care if needed, x-rays, prescribed medications and certain laboratory tests. Students are strongly encouraged to obtain health insurance if they are not already covered by personal or family plans. Insurance information is available on the Student Health Services web page at: https://www.uwplatt.edu/department/health-services/domestic-student-insurance
