Over the course of the last 18 months the department of Industrial Studies has explored the possibility of a name change to more reflect what the department is. This has been done to help freshman enrollment, provide more clarity for transfer students and help better define the department. We settled on the department name of Applied Engineering Technology Management (AETM) and a major name of Engineering Technology Management (ETM). As a department we feel that these names best represent all the areas of the department which include Construction, Engineering Technology, Technology and Engineering Education. The decision was made though conversations with current faculty, past faculty, college deans and advisory boards. The name change topic has been discussed in advisory meetings and they provided input that the department would be better recognized with a name change.
