Description of request

Uncouple the Biology major from the Education subplan

Per Lindsay K Hollingsworth on 2/20/2023:
I presented to LAE Curriculum Committee on the three updates (History, Biology, Chemistry) and there were no concerns.

Rationale

Students interested in teaching Biology in grades 4-12 should complete the Broadfield Science Major in order to be recommended for a Wisconsin teacher license. Students may choose to complete a minor or second major in Biology additionally.

Maureen Vandervest (vandervestm) (Tue, 28 Mar 2023 20:56:24 GMT): A last admit term of Summer 2023 has been added to the Biology - secondary ed subplan. Also the secondary ed subprogram option has been hidden on the eapp.
